I didn't want to be first writing or posting here something (okay Wiktor was first) but I think it might be a pretty good kind of introduction platform for all of us before April meeting. Soo I would like to ask you to tell the others at least one thing about yourself - for the beginning.
Best,
Daniel

Something about me...
I like music:) Especially TOOL, and electronic stuff like Amon Tobin, Dj Shadow, trip-hop like Portishead or Massive Attack, some female vocalists - Regina Spektor, PJ Harvey, Sivan Shavit, male as well - Nick Cave, Thom Yorke
Do you??? I love Tool. I was there... in Katowice during Ozzfest, 2002. They gave an amazing gig. The best in the evening. As for your favourite movies, I saw on your profile, "Apocalypse Now" and "Requiem for a Dream"(this music... played all around YouTube)are brilliant but I don't like Fightclub at all. Anyway, it is what our meetings look like, no single word of hobbies, only tasks and objactives:P:P:P ;) Not so bad, I hope:)
Maybe it's stupid... but I'm mad about Amy Winehouse voice. I just love jazz and Amy seems to be Billie Holiday of these days.
Hey I'm Hanna from Israel!
I also love music but not specific band or singers. I also like watching movies and reading books!
Hey guys and gals,
I'm Nofar (and for no gender mixing, I'm a female), of the Isreali delegation. Nice to meet you all virtually and I'm looking forward to meet you in person.
As for music, I'm highly addict myself. I listen to most of the metal genres, Goth, folk and neo-folk, Ambient and such. It'll be great to know that I'm not the only metalhead here :D
TOOL rulez man - and Maynard James Keenan is awesome! I was on two other concerts in 2001 and in 2006. I wish I could see all of their concerts... http://youtube.com/watch?v=EDlC7oG_2W4
About the movies - Wiktor howcome you don't like Fightclub? I know it is a specific kind of movies but it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G one ;) and a very unique in fact.
Amy Winehouse's voice is nice that's true:)
Nofar do you listen to Vashti Bunyan, or Soulfly or Soilwork, or Machine Head maybe?
:)
Daniel, please stop making-up of rock-bands, it's not April Fools' Day anymore. never heard of any of those bands... i like Sivan Shavit, though! and some other female singers as well.
in general i like many kinds of music, but if i have to pick one type to listen to for the rest of my life i'll go with melodic-female-singers, which isn't really a music-genre, but i think you know what i mean.
btw, i'm Adir from israel, nice to meet everyone!
Sorry Adir but I'll keep on metalheading;) I'm just curious if you Nofar know such (death/black...anyway heavy) metal bands as Vader, Behemoth or Decapitated. Thay're all Polish and world-wide well known amid metalheads. Our mainstream:P is not so successful:P I don't think we gonna hear in the bus bands mentioned above;) but there'll be "TSA", old, good, Iron-Maiden alike rock.
Of course I know (and like) Vader and Behemoth. Both also performed in Israel, btw. I remember that Vader gave a great show. Wiktor, I'm counting on you to get me familiar with the rest of the Polish scene ;)
Daniel - I like Vahsty too. Regarding Soilwork, I prefer their earlier period, which was more swedish-death oriented, and not nu-metal. So you can guess what I think about Soulfly ;)
ok Nofar:)
do you know At the Gates or In flames? when i was at high school i used to listen them a lot
It's kinda funny, since in my highschool days I've also listened quite a lot to Swedish death-metal bands such as ATG and In Flames. One band that I really love is Dark Tranquillity, who kept the loyalty to their roots with more mature and update clothing.
What about black metal and doom metal? Do you like these sub-genres?
Well I used to listen different kinds of music starting from Iron Maiden, and Machine Head, Bob Marley and raggae/ragga stuff) that time and ATG and In Flames were kind of a border (of course there were some other bands like Opeth or Sepultura - my favourite LP of Sep was Roots - that's why I mentioned Soulfly - Max Cavalera voice aghh:)
And about your question - nope I don't some of my friends listen to it a lot but me not
So, let's say that it'll be my one thing for the beginning. I'd say, I'm too interested in the history of XX century, esp. history of conflicts and wars. Look at my most favourite site ;) Okey, it's one of them :) And it may reflect in the content of the booklet you'll get but still hope it remains interesting.
Opeth are one of my favorite bands, they're truly unique. And as before, I'd go with the oldschool atitude - the early period is the best. "Orchid", "My Arms, Your Hearse"... masterpieces!
If one of you, our dear hosts, is willing to show me some music shops in Warszawa, where I can find loads of metal cd's, I'll be one happy camper. I already made a large wishlist :)
